Hi Church,

WOW! We are finally in our 3rd Arise & Build Pledge Weekend. What an exciting season to be alive! This time round, we are going to rally everyone as we gear ourselves up to pledge RM3 million for our VERY OWN church building called EX-8. This season is going to be a leap of faith for all of us as we prepare ourselves to sacrifice our best pledge ever! The amount may seem huge but if all of us would give in unity, this target is a mountain that can be conquered.

There are close to 1400 people in our church right now with probably 1250 members. If all of us can make a commitment to give to this building fund, each one of us only need to pledge no more than RM500 a month for the next 5 months. And what would that do? That would build God a house, not just for our generation but also for our children and our children’s children. 5 months of sacrifice would leave behind a spiritual legacy for all eternity! I want to affirm you that this is one worthwhile spiritual investment. And as you pray and plan as to how much and what to give, the LORD will honor you. He will give you the means to fulfill your pledge. He will empower you. He will bless you. But if we keep thinking…’But I have nothing to give?’, or ‘I cannot fulfill that amount!’ then we are not allowing God to work in us. Friends, God can only work through a willing and yielded vessel. He will not force you to do anything you do not want to do for God loves a cheerful giver!

So church, may I challenge you to give? May I challenge you to pledge… even if you have never pledged before? Truly, after all that Christ has done for us, is there anything too big we cannot do for Him? And really, without God, without His Church, without Arise & Build, who are you living your life for? I do not want to live for a house, a car, a paycheck, a holiday, an opportunity to travel… or anything worldly. I want to live for Jesus for all eternity. And I want my children and my children’s children to do the same – all for the glory of God!

So City Harvest, let us arise and build!

In Him
