Greetings in the wonderful name of Jesus!

Welcome back to Malaysia and church after an amazing week in Singapore for the inaugural Asia Conference. I believe you have learnt and caught a lot, from the opening night to the array of amazing speakers! Apart from having our spirits enlarged, I am sure you have learnt what it means to persevere. Persevere through longer services and even going to the hall early to get a seat. Some of us are not used to queuing hence we are easily tired. I want you to know that these are lessons – lessons to help you build spiritual muscles. If we cannot excel in such a small thing, what else can we do? I have said plenty of times I am not here to build a happy-go-lucky church. I am here to build a strong and large local church, one that will influence our world positively for Jesus. Church, I want you to rise up. I want you to answer the call by not living a mediocre life by accomplishing average, mediocre results. I want you to do more for God and more for yourself. If we don’t, we will never be good enough to engage the world, let alone build civilizations! City Harvesters, may I encourage you to rise up yet again!

And now that we have been revived and our spirits enlarged, where do we go from here? I want you to put all your talents and knowledge to good use. Think of creative ways how you can touch your community and marketplace. Find every opportunity you can to influence your world for Jesus. Don’t sit there and wait. Nothing will happen. Pray and act for faith without action is dead. Do something about it. We will never be able to change the world over night and we are not expected to! We change our world by touching one life at a time. So we bring a friend to cell group. Bring a colleague to church. Pray for someone in need. Help a classmate with their assignments. Visit someone in the hospital. All these can be done every day and the best part about it… you do not have to be a minister to do it. You can do it right where you are!

Let our words and actions be a witness for Jesus!

It is time to take Asia for Jesus!

Welcome to our only Saturday night service of the year! I know this week is a little different as the majority of our church is in Singapore to attend the first ever Asia Conference. Having said that, I believe the presence of God is still as strong, is still as powerful! I know Keith would certainly bring you a truly inspiring and life-changing message.

This is the first time we are having Asia Conference and Ps. Kong has prepared a host of unbelievable guest speakers and programs for all of us. Right from the start, the conference was a blast! The presence of God was so strong and the sense of anticipation among the participants was simply unbelievable. You could just sense everyone was at all times giving their all to bring heaven into the place. It was a moment to be savored. To me, it is truly a glimpse of heaven, a picture of what eternity would be.

I myself was so blessed and so touched by the Holy Spirit. I know if we continue to put our hearts right before God and constantly having a transformed mind, there is nothing we cannot do together as a church. We can change our generation. We can change our world for the better! We can bring Jesus into all areas of our society. This is my desire. This is my passion. This is what I want to see happened.

I do not want us to just live a mundane, boring, uninspired life. I do not want us to waste our lives away by doing nothing. I do not want you to only regret it once it is too late. Procrastination is the number one thief in our world today. It robs us of our desire, passion, dreams and energy for life. It takes away all that Jesus has given to us. It will destroy us if we allow it. Church, do not be afraid of work. Do not be fearful of a God-given dream. It may be tough but it is still a better way of living. I have seen too many young people wasting their lives away. It is my prayer that won’t be you. I want you to rise up to answer God’s call and run with fire in your heart.

Yes, you can!

Dear Church,

I am sure all of you agree with me that we have had 2 very powerful services last weekend. The presence of God was so strongly manifested and the power of God was so visibly at work. I believe it is all because all of us came with a united spirit and the same expectancy to pledge and give to the building of the house of God. Initially, the RM3-million target looks really huge but after coupling it with our faith and trust in the God of impossibilities, it became a project viable. It became something that we need to stretch our faith yet not too flung beyond our reach.

Church, after knowing you for the past 7 years I must admit that I know you very well. I know you will rise to the occasion and I know you will sacrifice to fulfill the target. As of this week, we are still receiving pledges hence I will announce the good news to you once we come back from Asia Conference. As an individual, we can do a lot for God but together we would be able to do a lot more. With one heart and one spirit, we can build God an awesome and magnificent house. Remember, this house is not built for men but for the God who created the universe, the heavens and the earth! The God almighty that created each and every one of us! Thus, this house should be glorious in all the land! This house should bring fame to His name! Not only that, this house would see tens of thousands of families coming to the saving grace of our LORD Jesus Christ! Friends, may I encourage you that your sacrifice and all your hard work would not be in vain. Your reward is in heaven and here on earth. Your children and your children’s children shall be blessed. What you did today shall leave behind a strong spiritual legacy for the next generation!

I am so excited in my spirit! I believe God with all my heart that something really good is going to happen to all of you. He will ensure that His blessings will chase after you and that you would have so much that you would not have room enough to contain it.

I, as your pastor speak blessings into your life!

Be blessed and be a blessing in return,

KEV

Hi Church,

WOW! We are finally in our 3rd Arise & Build Pledge Weekend. What an exciting season to be alive! This time round, we are going to rally everyone as we gear ourselves up to pledge RM3 million for our VERY OWN church building called EX-8. This season is going to be a leap of faith for all of us as we prepare ourselves to sacrifice our best pledge ever! The amount may seem huge but if all of us would give in unity, this target is a mountain that can be conquered.

There are close to 1400 people in our church right now with probably 1250 members. If all of us can make a commitment to give to this building fund, each one of us only need to pledge no more than RM500 a month for the next 5 months. And what would that do? That would build God a house, not just for our generation but also for our children and our children’s children. 5 months of sacrifice would leave behind a spiritual legacy for all eternity! I want to affirm you that this is one worthwhile spiritual investment. And as you pray and plan as to how much and what to give, the LORD will honor you. He will give you the means to fulfill your pledge. He will empower you. He will bless you. But if we keep thinking…’But I have nothing to give?’, or ‘I cannot fulfill that amount!’ then we are not allowing God to work in us. Friends, God can only work through a willing and yielded vessel. He will not force you to do anything you do not want to do for God loves a cheerful giver!

So church, may I challenge you to give? May I challenge you to pledge… even if you have never pledged before? Truly, after all that Christ has done for us, is there anything too big we cannot do for Him? And really, without God, without His Church, without Arise & Build, who are you living your life for? I do not want to live for a house, a car, a paycheck, a holiday, an opportunity to travel… or anything worldly. I want to live for Jesus for all eternity. And I want my children and my children’s children to do the same – all for the glory of God!

So City Harvest, let us arise and build!

In Him

Dear Church,

Hi! How are you guys doing? I am finally back! Phew! My wife and I miss all of you heaps! And it is just so good to be with my spiritual family once again! ;)

Beginning this week, we are entering into one of the most crucial and exciting seasons of our church life – Arise and Build Season. This is our 3rd one as we raise money and prepare ourselves to move into our new building that would eventually seat 3000 people! To me, this is truly the ‘real’ season, the time where the rubber meets the road, where our faith is called into action and where our sacrifice justifies our intention! And I like times like this because I know after all the talk is done, when the preaching is over and the lights are turned off, I would be tested as to how much I am willing to sacrifice for God. I will know if I am real and I mean what I say.

Church, I believe this is going to be one of those ‘destiny-defining-moments’ of your life. Sitting back is not going to help. Staying comfortable is not going to be good. Looking back is going to be disastrous. The only way is the way forward. The way of trusting in the LORD, our Provider! I want you to prepare yourself to give and even learn to sacrifice. I want you to learn to step out in faith and believe that God will not short-change you. Think about it for a moment – how many of us have gone poorer these last 3 years or 7 years because we gave? I believe the answer is none. Why am I so certain? Because we serve a loving and promise-keeping God! Because I know He cannot fail us! That is His nature and character!

The challenge ahead of us may seem big but I know it is achievable. I know it is a hurdle that we all can overcome together. After all, isn’t our God the God who loves to surprise us by turning all the impossibilities into reality?!
Church, let us commit this entire project into His Hands, knowing that He can. I am at peace because I know He is on our side. J

I believe in the God of impossibilities!

Running strong,

KEV
